Stutz is a film by Jonah Hill about his psychologist and therapist Phil Stutz. The Netflix film talks about Stutz's ideas and philosophies that can help people with mental health. One of those ideas is about Life Force.
Stutz says a lot of times people fall into depression because of lack of direction in life. But if people work on their life force, everything will fall into place and they will figure out their passion. Life force is a 3-step pyramid.
The first level is the relationship with your body - you need to get enough sleep, exercise, and eat healthy. You need to take care of your body first.
The second level is the relationship with other people. You need to build a community and connection with other people. Interactions with others will give you energy and propel you forward. Don't wait for other to take the first step - you need to be the one who initiates.
The last one is the relationship with yourself. The best way to improve the relationship is through writing and reflecting. The magic of writing is that it helps us think and connect the dots. Having a journal helps tremendously to grow a relationship with yourself.
To increase your life force take care of your body, grow relationships with people, and write a journal. That’s the lesson from Stutz.
